Thunder Heart Performance have teamed up to develop the ThunderMax EFI Controller, a complete stand-alone replacement Engine Control Module (ECM)! When we began designing the ThunderMax EFI controller, we had one main goal in mind-overcome the limitations of the stock system. The ThunderMax EFI eliminates the requirement of any add-on tuning products and was developed with complete versatility in mind. Our system utilizes a very fast, powerful processor which allows a higher resolution of tuning points than any of the other popular add-ons, including the factory's Race Tuner® software. These points of adjustment are ALL addressed during the creation of our base maps and are the key to unlocking a bikes potential.
All processors use a look-up table to deliver the specified amount of fuel and spark timing for a given rpm/load situation. The ThunderMax is an Alpha-N based system, meaning it relies on rpm and throttle position only; it does not use data from the MAP sensor. The Harley's® uneven firing pulses and common plenum manifold can confuse the MAP sensor, and cause it to supply fuel and spark from the wrong block, resulting in poor performance. For this type of system to work properly, it requires many more "blocks" on the look-up table. When we designed our ECM we covered the bases with a system that operates using 1,984 points! Simply put, regardless of throttle position and engine RPM, there is a block on the look-up table to address the engine's needs in that situation. ThunderMax's processor can keep up with the ever- changing demands, rewarding you with a powerful engine that runs very smoothly and efficiently.
While it is true that a base map is required, we have an ever-growing library of base maps including many engine and exhaust combinations. These highly refined maps lower operating temperatures, eliminate exhaust popping between shifts and deceleration, and improve throttle response and performance. We develop the maps on a state-of-the-art eddy-current dyno using lab-type instrumentation. With our system which allows adjustments of 20% air/fuel and 10 degrees ignition to the supplied base map. Things like idle adjustment, rpm limit, speedometer calibration, and others are simple click-and-enter affairs. Tuning can be performed 'live' (engine running) along with live monitoring of 44 engine and system vitals viewed as on- screen gauges. Future upgrades require the simple installation of a new map; about a 2 minute process!

Since fitting the Thundermax ECM to my 06 Night Train the performance has improved hugely the NT runs Smoother and No longer Misses and Pops when backing off. At 110kph there is No need to change down to Pass - Just open the Throttle and it Pulls Harder than a School Boy with a Stick Book, Maxium Bang For Your Buck.

I just got home after enjoying the best three hours yet on my 07 Softail. You were pretty close when you told me I could expect a noticable difference between the standard HD ECM and the Thundermax... I think significant would be a better description. My motorcycle has only done 2000km and is still pretty tight, so I am really looking forward to
another couple of thousand klicks time.
Well done on a great product guys....I will have no problem at all ecommending it to all my mates!

I have done a lot of research for my 2006 Deluxe (pipes & high flow air) before deciding on a ThunderMax & after riding the bike , I know I made the right choice. The bike runs crisp and smooth & the power increase was noticeable straight away. I even feel that neutral is easier to select because the idle is now smooth.

I picked the bike up yesterday afternoon. As you would understand purchasing a bike over the internet and from someone you have never see can and is a stressful time. It is a lot of monie to send to someone that you have never had dealings with.I purchased a 2007 model night train from your shop.
I was given information from yourself that the bike was in excellent condition. You stated to me that I would be more than happy with the appearance of the bike. The bike is in top condition I am very pleased with my purchase (Will be happier when I can go for a long ride).
At the time of purchasing the bike I called you regarding Vance and hind pipes. As you are aware the information going around regarding pipes on the 2007 model they say you can not put pipes on. You advised me of the thundermax ecu unit and guaranteed that if I put the thunder max on to the bike I would have no problems with back firing, missing and all the other problems that people are say.
Have only had a short ride as of writing this to you I am very pleased with the way my bike is running and the performance so far.
I have had friends and members of the public make comments like how can you have those pipes on if it is a 2007 model. I have given them the information that you have posted on your wed site regarding the thundermax.
I am very pleased with the service I have received. The professional approach yourself and staff have shown me every time I have called your shop. (There has been heaps)

After Purchasing my Thundermax ECM unit, Thundermax Filter Upgrade Kit & a set of Vance & Hines Pipes , Its transformed my 07 Softail Custom into a different Bike just like sticking a bottle of Nitros up its Back Side, Best Money I have ever spent !, Now it goes & sounds like a Harley should.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I bought my new wide glide down to you on the 19th December to fit pipes, aircleaner and ecm unit.You put on Vance and Hines bigshot staggered, the bigger aircleaner and the Thundermax ECM unit. The pipes look great and really suit the bike (Have had a lot of comments). But my main point is that I rode a Harley in that didn't sound right and rode out with a Harley that had attitude. The performance is just great and sound is even better. I travelled up to just north of Monto and back in the rain over the xmas break. The bike ran like a dream and was a pleasure to ride. My 07 softail is now twice the bike it was , so much more ridable , makes you want to not get off . every notable difference that I read about before I bought it , I felt for myself . couldnt believe it even changed the sound of the bike . you should have been a fly on the wall when I first went down the hill with throttle off , no bloody popping,I had a smile wider than my helmet , that itself was worth the money . more than happy Simon , ill see you when i m ready to add the auto tuner . . . .
